In 2016, the surest sign that school is back in session is news of a shooting, and that’s just what we have out of Texas today. According to the local sheriff, a female student at Alpine High School in West Texas shot another student in the legs and then shot and killed herself. A federal officer was also shot on the scene, when a marshall accidentally fired on him. The conditions of the two injured people was not immediately clear.
The sheriff told a local news station that a semiautomatic pistol was found next to the shooter along with “plenty of ammunition.”
