Brazil has overtaken Russia to rank second in the world, just behind the United States, now with more than 340,000 cases and 21,000 deaths from COVID-19. Doctors warn there is so little testing that the true number of cases could be 15 times higher than the official estimate. The World Health Organization says South America has become “a new epicenter” for coronavirus.
