A fortune-teller, cotton candy, and “Park Pong” constitute the carnival part of this evening to benefit the playground-building, open-space-conserving Trust for Public Land. Beers and cocktails are $5; appetizers are free.
2. Dining for Darfur
August 21, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Puck Building, Lafayette St. at Houston St.
A walk-around tasting showcases 400 wines, accompanied by food from Hill Country, Blue Ribbon, and Cookshop, and proceeds benefit the International Rescue Committee and its humanitarian work in Darfur. Tickets cost $125 and may be purchased at diningfordarfur.org/tickets.php.
