Wayfair’s new loyalty program is here: What to know, how to access perks and more

Wayfair is one of the absolute best retailers for finding quality furniture, decor and everyday essentials at a great price point. While the site always has sale events, such as its annual Way Day Sale, where it further discounts its already well-priced catalog, it hasn’t established a proper loyalty program, until now.

Starting Oct. 25, shoppers can sign up for its brand new loyalty program, Wayfair Rewards. The program’s membership has a yearly fee and includes benefits such as early access to sales, free shipping and more.

Wayfair Rewards is Wayfair’s new loyalty membership program, which gives customers member-only discounts and early access to certain sales. Memberships cost $29 annually, and it auto-renews each year on the date of sign up. The loyalty program is only for individual consumers — not for Wayfair Professional or business accounts — and you can cancel at any time.

• Free shipping: Members get free shipping on orders, with some restrictions.

• Member-exclusive sales: Members get access to member-only sales and discounts as well as early access to certain sitewide sales. This also includes special discounts for member’s birthdays.

• 5% back in rewards: Members receive up to 5% back in rewards (with some restrictions) on purchases. Rewards never expire and as long as you maintain your membership, you can access them. In honor of the program’s launch, Wayfair is offering up to 10% back in rewards from Oct. 25 to Oct. 31.

• Benefits across family brands: Access to sales and discounts on products across the retailer’s family brands, which include AllModern, Joss & Main and Birch Lane.

• Customer service line: Access to an exclusive customer service line to help with questions related to your membership or purchases.

Whether or not you should sign up for the membership will depend on how often you shop at the retailer. I frequently cover sales at Wayfair and know the ins and outs of other membership programs. Many of the benefits this rewards program offers are on par with other major retailers — free shipping, member-exclusive sales are all par for the course. That said, at $29 annually this membership costs less than a Target Circle 360 membership, which is $99 annually and a Walmart Plus membership ($98 a year).

The program may be particularly helpful if you’re moving into a new space or in the process of redecorating. In addition to selling mattresses, dressers, coffee tables, backyard fixtures and holiday decor, which you may not be shopping for on a regular basis, the retailer also sells everyday items — like K-cups, food storage bags and laundry detergent sheets — where having free shipping and extra discounts may be helpful.
