You would think, a decade into the mainstream use of GPS, that people would stop driving into lakes. But you’d also think that people wouldn’t have been driving into lakes before that anyway, so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised that yet another person has driven her car into a lake.
Last week, a 23-year-old Canadian woman was driving through Ontario — in her defense, on a rainy and foggy Thursday night — when she took an errant left turn into a boat launch and found her car plummeting into a lake.
Lucky for the driver, the car floated long enough for her to open a window and grab her purse. She swam safely to shore and appears to be no worse for wear, the Toronto Sun reports. Except for, you know, her car sinking to the bottom of a lake.
The driver, the Toronto Sun also reports, has declined to speak to any members of the press. Which we get, again, given that whole car-sinking-to-the-bottom-of-a-lake thing.
