There must be something in the Australian water that inspires fashion genius. First model Gemma Ward invades more Vogue pages than Marc Jacobs. Then designer Josh Goot scores all of Henri Bendel’s fall windows. Now the cosmetics line Model Co. releases a minor breakthrough: individual nail-polish removers called Liquid Buds. Just snap off the top and quickly scrape off your leftover color—without making your cuticles sting or your fingers stink like acetone. At first I thought the “buds” were just glorified Q-tips. But cotton swabs have always proved too flimsy to really remove polish, and these little gizmos did the trick. With all the new black nail lacquers staining fingers throughout the city, there’s never been a better time for more Aussie brilliance.
