Department stores are good for many things, shoe sales and perfume overloads among them. But I never thought they’d be the best place to grab lunch—until Saks Fifth Avenue opened their fifth floor café, SnAKS. If you can recover from the unfortunate name and strange placement—right behind the Marc Jacobs pumps—you might discover the best lobster club ever, one you can split between friends and still have a meal. Made with bread flown in daily from France, plus fresh lobster, bacon, avocado, and tomato, it’s the most unexpected surprise I’ve encountered while shopping—and that includes the time I shared a dressing room with Maggie Gyllenhaal at Ralph Lauren.
