February Is a Great Time to Buy an On-Sale Swimsuit

Whether it’s for a spring-break trip, a long-awaited beach vacation, or just wishful warm-weather thinking, the time is nigh to buy a swimsuit. Some brands, like J.Crew, are offering discounts on their staple styles, but most seem to be clearing out old stock to make way for new pieces. The discounts are steep, too: The lowest discount is 30 percent off, and some are as high as 80 or 90 percent off. I’ve done a lot of digging through the sales bins at Nordstrom, Lands’ End, the Outnet, and more to find really nice-looking one-piece and two-piece suits you can get a great deal on right now.

Two-piece swimsuits on sale

I’ve been patiently waiting for the comeback of the swim skirt. Lands’ End has a few for really cheap.

Under $60 is a steal for this striped string bikini.

J.Crew’s swimsuit selection is always reliable, and right now, they’ve got a few cute ones on sale. This suit’s underwire top looks Cuup-esque, and the high cut of the bottoms are quite retro.

If you’d prefer an underwire with a print, this Billabong suit is tropical without being kitschy.

Hunza G Gigi Bikini Set
$152
$152

Hunza G is perhaps the most famous of one-size-fits-all crinkle-swimsuit makers (several Strategist staffers are fans). They are quite expensive suits, though, so finding one on sale is your best bet. I spotted this square-neck version for close to 40 percent off at Revolve.

My favorite stretchy swimsuit brand, Youswim, has several two- and one-pieces for up to 70 percent off. There aren’t many colors to choose from, but I really like this sunshine-yellow shade.

Junior writer Brenley Goertzen just purchased this also-crinkly set by Good American for a recent beach vacation.

From $90

The one-piece version of Goertzen’s new suit is also on sale. If green isn’t to your liking, it also comes in hot pink.

At over 90 percent off, this stripey number is practically free. But note that it’s only on sale in sizes 18 through 24.

Speedo suits are great if you’re after something super-simple (or looking for something to work out in). I like this electric-blue shade the best, but two colors are even cheaper at just $19: coral and neon yellow.

A strapless ruched suit guarantees no tan lines.

I love this deep V-neck, complete with a beltlike little clasp.

Consider this Zimmerman swimsuit for $60 (that’s 85 percent off!) a don’t-dillydally alert.

Staud Alexandra One Piece

$113

Never have I seen a strapless swimsuit with such a cute little flare at the top.

Araks Luna One Piece - Baya

This is definitely on the pricey side, but I’d argue it’s the best option to wear with jean shorts.
