At House hearing, only one opioid distributor admits contribution to epidemic

01:20

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-MS), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, asks five executives of major pharmaceutical distributors whether they believe their company has contributed to the nation’s opioid epidemic. Joseph Mastandrea of Miami-Luken is the only executive on the panel to answer in the affirmative, while later on in the hearing, George Barrett, formerly of Cardinal Health, added, “I have seen enough to know that I wish we would've acted earlier.”
