Brexit talks go ‘extra mile’ as U.K., E.U. remain far apart

Both the U.K. and European Union said Brexit negotiations would continue past the self-imposed deadline. In London, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the two sides remained “very far apart on some key things,” such as fishing rights and trade. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, speaking from Brussels, said that despite multiple deadlines being missed it would be responsible for both sides to “go the extra mile," and continue talks until the end of the year.
