Authorities update on NYC helicopter crash: Pilot in good condition, but fatalities reported

Shortly after a helicopter crashed into New York City’s East River on Sunday, authorities briefed reporters on the incident. New York City Police Department Commissioner James P. O’Neill said there were six people on board. Fire Department Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro reported that while the pilot was able to escape the crash and is in good condition, there were two initial fatalities. Authorities later said all five passengers had died.March 12, 2018
