Kenneth Battelle and his staff-who also do facials ($98), full-leg waxing ($93), brow waxing (from $38), and manicures ($35)-are so dedicated they will come in early or leave late to accommodate busy schedules. Bridal-hair trials and wedding-day styles start at $163. On-location bridal makeup from $125.

Le Salon Chinois

At Le Salon Chinois, renowned stylist Yan Chia tames frizzy hair with a Japanese hair-straightening treatment ($100 an hour). (Brazilian straightening is available as well.) Then he’ll sweep hair into a glamorous updo for the big day. Haircut and styling start at $75. Custom spa packages are also available, one floor up. Spend more than $100 at the salon or spa and they’ll throw in a free manicure.

Louis Licari

Louis Licari color specialists are known for finding the best hair color to suit each woman. Their popular highlights start at $210. A consultation and trial with a stylist starts at $250. Day-of prices from $300 for the bride, $100 for bridesmaids.

MHN Hair Studio

Though MHN specializes in styling treatments for women with thinning hair, its line of natural, non-synthetic hair extensions are an option for any bride unwilling to risk the damaging effects of mainstream wedding styling ($1,500 to $3,500).

Once Upon a Bride

This weddings-only agency for bridal hair and makeup artists specializes in modern styling and natural makeup. For a two-hour, in-salon consultation ($300), the staff will try a variety of looks. With ten hair and makeup artists at varying levels of expertise, on-location prices range from $350 to $650 for hair or makeup.

Oscar Blandi Salon

For classically styled, timeless looks, this is the place. Bridal trials (including three looks) start at $350; day-of updos in the salon start at $400. Bridesmaids can also get an updo for the wedding day, starting at $200. For styling on-location, prices upon request.

Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa

This airy salon and spa creates looks that match the bride’s taste and the style of her wedding. With a spa party, the staff will pamper the bride-and up to nineteen of her girlfriends-by tending to hair, makeup, and nails. They also do on-location work. Prices upon request.

This hair and makeup artist is all about natural, simple styles to ensure that brides look classic yet modern-socialites adore him. Trials are $1,200; day-of prices upon request.

The Pierre Michel Salon

Yolanda Palmer is the bridal coordinator at this lively salon, which is known for great manicures, haircuts, and color. In-house hair and makeup starts at $175 each; on-location styling for the bride starts at $300. Hair and makeup trials start at $125.

Pipino Salon

PPipino Salon helps brides find the look that suits them; in-salon trials range from $300 to $500. A haircut with Pipino himself is $300; bridal ’dos on location start at $2,500. He books eight weeks out.

Riccardo Maggiore Salon

The gracious staff will help calm pre-wedding jitters by offering complimentary cups of herbal tea while they style hair. Maggiore photographs the trials so brides can peruse various looks before committing to one. Trials are $150 to $500; day-of hairstyles run $250 to $500.

Ringo

This downtown spot is a cozy place to get soft styles or relaxed updos (brides from $500; bridesmaids from $100). Ringo is happy to travel anywhere in the city at no additional charge. Since he doesn’t trust verbal consultations, and believes "weddings are too important," his trials are mandatory ($100 to $150); this will be deducted from the total price, however.

Roy Teeluck Salon

This hair salon prides itself on a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Trials average about $200. Wedding-day hair, priced per stylist, ranges from $350 to $1,000 for the bride, and from $75 to $150 (for a blow-dry), or $150 to $200 (for an updo), for each member of the bridal party.

Sally Hershberger

Though known for their edgy cuts, the stylists here can also create softer, wedding-friendly styles-Tommy Buckett is great for all types of hair. Trials at this hip meatpacking district salon run from $300 to $600; in-salon styling on the wedding day starts at $600. For on-location bridal hairstyles, prices upon request.

Salon AKS

The go-to bridal stylists at Salon AKS-Mika Rummo and Nikki Ray-provide trials for $150 to $300. A makeup trial is $250 to $300. Wedding-day hair or makeup in the salon starts at $225 (for each). House calls are possible; prices upon request.

Salon Eliút Rivera

The stylists at this salon specialize in "great-length fuse bond" extensions that last three or four months. Wedding-day hair ranges from $800 to $1,500 for extensions (including a trial) with a 10-percent group discount. Trial runs without extensions are $300 for the bride; $100 to $150 for bridesmaids.

Stephen Knoll

At this salon, brides-to-be who like their privacy can request a separate room in which to get made up. Updos start at $250 and makeup applications at $300. (Prices are higher for Knoll himself, however.) Hairstyling and makeup at the wedding site can run "into the thousands."

Ted Gibson Salon

The folks at this bright and open Flatiron salon excel at creating beautiful updos, working with hairpieces, and experimenting with different bridal looks. Liam Carey (Gibson’s protégé) is the most sought-after wedding stylist at this salon. After a complimentary consultation, he will try multiple looks and take digital photos of each for $250. In-salon bridal updos are $300. On-location styling for the bride and three other members of the bridal party costs $1,000.

Tela

Philip Pelusi’s salon is an elegant little place in the heart of the meatpacking district. Bridal consultations are free, trials for hair and makeup start at $250, and day-of-the-wedding services start at $250. (Stylist Ricardo Gomez’s on-site per diem is $1,500 and up, and he’ll travel.) Brides can rent the entire salon for the day of the wedding (from $3,000).

Valery Joseph Salon

These Upper East Side salons offer sophisticated wedding-day updos and hair extensions. Prices start at $200 for in-salon work; on-location day rates to style the bridal party range from $1,500 to $2,500, depending on the location and number of people.

Vartali Salon

Warren-Tricomi Salon

Tucked into the Plaza Hotel, the newest and most opulent outpost from Joel Warren and Edward Tricomi is huge at 7,000 square feet. Here, brides can get cut, colored, and styled. An extensive trial-hair session (from $450) includes two different looks with photos; the actual wedding-day ’do starts at $400.
