The National Rifle Association ad that calls President Obama an “elitist hypocrite” because his daughters are protected by armed guards was deemed “repugnant and cowardly” by the White House, and Chris Christie concurs. The New Jersey governor called the clip “reprehensible” today, adding, “I’m a father who is a public figure, who has four children and my children had no choice realistically in what I decided to do with my career and what effect that has had on their lives.” Christie, who’s been careful not to offend gun owners since Sandy Hook, draws the line at kids in this case. “Don’t be dragging people’s children into this,” he said. “It’s wrong and I think it demeans them and it makes them less of a valid trusted source of information on the real issues that confront this debate.”
