It’s traditional for possible Republican presidential contenders to make an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Committee’s annual gathering, and while eight 2016 hopefuls will be speaking next month, including Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush, NBC News reports that Chris Christie will not be among them. The New Jersey governor didn’t get an invitation, which may be a sign that Republicans are still miffed at him for cozying up to the president and criticizing some in his party for dragging their feet on Hurricane Sandy aid. It’s also possible that with visionaries like Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, and NRA leaders Wayne LaPierre and David Keene already slated to speak, they just didn’t have time to hear Christie’s thoughts about the party’s future.
