Welcome back to Your Shopping Cart, wherein we break out the top five products that you, devoted Strategist readers, all bought in droves. Think of this as the tl;dr of the Strategist: If your like-minded brethren are buying these items, maybe you’d like to, too.
We’ve got a new (old) champion. Many of you may have been first introduced to the Cosrx pimple patches last July, when beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton first wrote about them, and when she mentioned them again in a recent story about scar prevention, that was enough to send them rocketing back to best-seller status. In second place are Natori briefs, a pair of underwear that’s been a Strategist favorite for many months. Our bronze medalist is Molly Young’s favorite Hairstory wash, which leaves hair shiny and full, rather than dried-out and “shampooed.” The fourth-place winner is a newcomer from our cheap-home-décor post — a $26 tiered accessory holder from Umbra that’d make a great valentine gift. And lastly, many of you bought the Anypro, a well-reviewed humidifier for hydrating winter-ravaged skin — enough to send it into fifth place.
1. The Google Doc I Send to People Who Ask About My Skin
Hello, old friend. These pimple patches have been a Strat best seller since they first appeared on the site last July, when beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton wrote about them as part of her multistep guide to perfect skin. Just recently, she wrote about them again, as weapon No. 1 in her post-pimple-popping arsenal. Many of you paid attention.
2. What’s the Best Underwear for Women?
We noted last time how popular this underwear continues to be, and this time is no different (it’s gone from fourth place to second). Says High Fashion Home founder Dolly Frearson: “For everyday underwear, I need them to feel comfortable and breathable. I also need them to appear smooth, and not pinch my skin in any place or ride up. And this is the only pair that does all of the above. They will eventually replace almost all of your underwear in your drawer.”
3. The Shampoo Replacement I Only Have to Use Once a Week
Last week’s fifth-place finisher now comes in third, as many Strat readers continue to snatch up the non-shampoo that leaves hair perfectly conditioned: “But the results are wild. My long hair air-dries perfectly, with no ‘squeaky’ texture. It is shiny and falls in loose waves, like it did when I was a kid. I don’t need to blow-dry it. My chronic flaky scalp (sorry!) is gone forever. I customarily wash my hair every three days. With New Wash, once a week. When friends remark that my hair looks nice, it’s fun to say, ‘I haven’t shampooed in six months.’ Which is technically accurate.”
4. 27 Cheap (But Expensive-Looking) Apartment Accents on Amazon
Perfect for holding keys, earrings, loose change (or many other things), the Umbra accessory holder is something of a cheap-but-expensive-looking MVP — it looks like it could cost easily double what it does. So many of you liked it that it’s making its debut appearance on this list. Amazon prices fluctuating as they do, it now costs $26, but we liked it so much, we still included it in our under-$25 Valentine’s Day gift guide.
5. The 9 Best Humidifiers on Amazon, According to Hyperenthusiastic Reviewers
It’s prime humidifier season, as temperatures plummet and dry out skin; even within apartments, central heating and space heaters can dry out your face and body. We recently went in search of the best bacteria-zapping humidifier, but lots of you have been buying this humidifier from our roundup of the best-reviewed versions on Amazon, which one user loved: “My wife and I loved it so much, we recently ordered another one for the family room! It puts out a ton of cool mist, but somehow didn’t leave ANY condensation on our table, even after running it about ten hours alone today.”
