We’re entering the frantic final hours of October Prime Day, which ends at 11:59 p.m. PT (2:59 a.m. ET) tonight. As usual, Strategist staffers have been busy trawling for the best deals while our readers have been even busier taking advantage of them, whether by adding bulk orders of dental floss to your carts or investing in backup pairs of AirPods.

The preliminary data is in, and as we’ve come to expect on Prime Day, two categories have been neck and neck in terms of purchasing numbers so far: everyday household essentials and beauty products. Legions of you have replenished your supplies of Glad garbage bags and will soon be slathering your faces in CosRX snail mucin, currently 48 percent off. You’re stockpiling cheap Laneige lip masks as well as discounted tubs of protein powder. You’re whitening your teeth and buying extra guest pillows. And just to mix things it up, it seems that a vast number of people are buying this Hot Wheels car.

If you’ve been holding out until the final hours of Prime Day to make your purchases (I’m right there with you, by the way), think of the best-seller list below as a kind of cheat sheet. For more in-depth research, there’s also our 259-item-strong megalist of all the best October Prime Day deals.

Prime Day isn’t just about getting good deals on fancy appliances and tech. It’s also the best time of year to stock up on boring everyday stuff, which is why these whitening strips are currently our readers’ most-purchased product.

Apple AirPods Pro 2
$190
$190

But speaking of tech, many of you admittedly also bought AirPods, which are on sale at an all-time low price of $169.

Apple AirPods Max
$399
$399

At almost 30 percent off, the AirPods Max have understandably been very popular as well.

Year after year, Laneige dominates Prime Day sales. Truly, New York Magazine readers may have the softest lips in the world.

The balm was a slightly bigger seller this time around, but Laneige’s original sleeping mask (which I have to assume most of you are reapplying during waking hours) remains a hit.

Snails will be working overtime to replenish all the mucin that was purchased this week. But at nearly half-off, they can’t blame anybody for stockpiling their magical essence (which helps fight breakouts and hyperpigmentation, according to Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton).

One of our favorite volumizing and curling mascaras (Strategist beauty writer Kitty Guo has been using it since college) is $10 off right now, and it seems like a lot of you will be offsetting your soft lips and dewy skin with a dramatic eye look.

This is another great household-basics deal that Strategist readers are taking advantage of. It works out to be about 13 cents a bag.

From $60 for 2

Our best affordable pillows are even more affordable on Prime Day. Strategist writer Arielle Avila says they support her neck when she’s lying on her stomach and side, and many of you are about to enjoy the same level of comfort.

From $199

At 20 percent off, our best latex pillow has also proven popular. Strategist sleep writer Amelia Jerden says it’s well suited to back sleepers who need strong enough support to keep their neck and head aligned with their spine without raising their head too high.

Our pick for the best portable carpet cleaner, Bissell’s Little Green, comes recommended by cleaning expertspet owners, and vintage-furniture flippers. Many of you are about to join the chorus.

I have to admit I did not see this one coming. But more than a year after Barbie movie mania, a pink remote-control Corvette is our best-selling Prime Day toy.

Kindle Paperwhite Kids
$145
$145

No Corvette playtime until they’ve read a chapter or two on their Kindle, though. These have been another sleeper hit.

Strategist deals editor and Texas resident Sam Daly was sent one of these minimal-looking fly traps to test and was “kind of shocked by how quickly it worked.” Let me know if you have the same luck.

$90

It’s lucky that Nutribullets are relatively quiet, because it seems that a huge number of you are about to start blending in earnest by tomorrow morning.

$93

Jet streams of water will be spraying across Brooklyn due to a sudden influx of these cordless flossers, which come recommended by numerous dental experts we’ve interviewed over the years.

Hand-flossing readers also had a strong showing. This is our best overall floss, so they’re making good choices.

I didn’t see this Sonicare deal until now, and I’m shocked by how good it is. This is the kind of brush that saves its user thousands of dollars at the dentist in the long run, so get one if you haven’t already. (Although it seems that a large number of you already have.)

This is actually one of my favorite ever shampoos, and I’m genuinely excited that so many of you are joining me in using it.

Nécessaire ain’t bad either, and it would seem that these elegant twin bottles are irresistibly priced.

Our best overall air purifier has become a Prime Day best seller in recent years, and let us not dwell too hard on the reasons why.

Anker makes the best portable chargers, as plenty of readers are about to find out.

Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans
From $48
From $48

Strategist fashion writer Ambar Pardilla says that if you’re going to buy jeans on Prime Day, they should be these ones. Many of you are taking her up on this advice.

Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio has given this frame as a gift no fewer than eight times, and lots of our readers are having the same idea.

Like I said at the beginning, Prime Day really is the best time to make boring purchases. Hence this big ugly jar of (surprisingly tasty) protein powder that’s about to arrive on Strategist reader doorsteps.

The Strategist is designed to surface useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Every product is independently selected by our team of editors, whom you can read about here. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
