A lot of excellent new releases worth snatching up this week, including a lox bag, Cheetos socks, and some very special Ellsworth Kelly stamps.
Baggu’s Lox Plate Bag
Baggu’s new summer collection includes a really delightful reusable shopper adorned with all the ingredients you’d find on a lox plate (lox, capers, dill, soft-boiled eggs, etc.).
Saturdays NYC’s New Candle
Saturdays teamed up with Brooklyn-based candlemakers Joya on two candles; this one, the Citrus Paradisi, is a bit more summer-appropriate, and features “top notes of grapefruit and patchouli Leaf, heart notes of violet, ginger, cypress, and lavender, and base notes of sandalwood, cedar wood, and amber.”
Ellsworth Kelly Stamps
There was much hullabaloo over these Ellsworth Kelly stamps when they were announced back in February. Finally, as of May 31 (on what would have been the artist’s 96th birthday), they are available to purchase via the USPS website.
Amazon’s First “Drop”
The Drop, Amazon Fashion’s new influencer-designed fashion collection (that exists for only 30 hours!) launched yesterday with a set of pieces designed by Paola Alberdi. We like this cotton-candy-pink cotton blazer.
Custom Calvins
Calvin Klein’s new custom collection lets you add patches and (somewhat disappointingly) already-existing phrases to its basic men’s and women’s bras and panties. We did a few rough mock-ups.
Too Faced’s Damn Girl! Mascara
Damn Girl!, which is out today, is a “follow-up” to Too Faced’s best-selling Better Than Sex mascara, and early reviews are saying its very good, thanks in part to its “infinity brush.”
Forever 21 x Cheetos
Another amazing head-scratcher of a Forever 21 collaboration; this time with Cheetos.
Everlane’s Cotton-Weave Picnic Dress
From all of Everlane’s recent launches, we’re most drawn to this cotton “picnic” dress (that feels both very work and weekend appropriate).
Eos’s Doughnut-Flavored Lip Balm
So it doesn’t debut till June 7, but apparently there is already a 1,300-person wait list for this doughnut-flavored lip balm. Good grief.
Cold Picnic’s Animal Rugs
Cold Picnic, the Brooklyn-based makers behind the culty boob bath mat, has just released a line of animal-themed rugs in big and small sizes; we really like the cow. (They’d look great in a kid’s room, incidentally.)
Saks’s Stonewall Inn 50th Anniversary Collection
Call us a little jaded, but we find that most Pride-themed limited-edition merch feel like a bunch of brands taking advantage of a moment to look virtuous, and the wares are mostly garbagio, and a little, just like, “throw a rainbow on it.” We do think, however, that there are some sort of amazing things in Saks’s Stonewall Inn Anniversary collection. This $5,495 purse that’s a cat in a rainbow-print sweater wearing a beret and sunglasses (and are its nails painted red?) is almost so insane and bananas that we actually kind of love it. Also, these jock straps are fun, too.
