This week’s dive into the world of launches and collaborations that we’re pretty sure will sell out includes a sustainable, pillow-forward home-décor collaboration between Eileen Fisher and West Elm, an Away pet carrier that we suspect dog-fluencers will want, and a bunch of merch from Cardi B and the Met, alike.
The Met 150 Edit
The Metropolitan Museum of Art turns 150 years old this year, and a bunch of our favorite brands are celebrating with Met-inspired merch collaborations — all of which benefit the museum directly. You can shop the collection online or, as of this upcoming Saturday, in person, when the Fifth Avenue museum reopens.
The ubiquitous Baggu tote, this time inspired by three original works of art in the Met’s collection. You can buy them individually or go all-in with the three-pack.
We’d add this gold bow earring — made by Brooklyn-based boutique Catbird and inspired by an 18th-century French portrait — to Strategist writer Hilary Reid’s list of rather cool jewelry at the Met Museum Store.
A Met-red planter for your smallish philodendron from the Sill. (The collaboration also includes a slightly larger Precolombian-inspired planter for bigger plants.)
These blue and red Allbirds, which are also available for men, are inspired by the tones in Katsushika Hokusai’s print South Wind, Clear Sky.
West Elm x Eileen Fisher
Eileen Fisher’s designs are known to be sustainable and comfortable, two words that can also be used to describe her limited-edition home collection for West Elm, which features several pillow covers and one $2,000 swivel chair. All of the pieces are individually felted from discarded jeans — in dark indigo, light indigo, and red tones — so every piece is one of a kind.
Novogratz x Target
Robert and Cortney Novogratz’s home décor and furniture often come expert-recommended here at the Strategist, and now they have a collection available at Target. If you’re looking for a desk lamp for your WFH setup, we like the fabric cord and white ball foot on this otherwise simple gold lamp (and it’s $7 cheaper than usual).
Bearaby x The Hyppo Napsicle
A stress relief combination you didn’t know you needed: Bearaby’s beloved (and cooling) weighted blanket in summery ombré hues (Watermelon Dreams! Blueberry Nights! Mango Siesta!), sold with an assorted six-pack of the Hyppo’s gourmet popsicles in those same flavors.
WAP Store
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion told us “get your boots and your coat,” and now you literally can, at the WAP store. There’s some T-shirts, hoodies, and biker sets, plus a bunch of wares for … when it’s wet, like this midlength raincoat.
Away Pet Carrier
If you’re heading away for a weekend upstate, or even just around the corner to a (pet-friendly) outdoor restaurant, consider bringing your furry friend along in Away’s sleek pet carrier. We think the sherpa-lined and water-resistant bag is a dog-fluencer tote in the making.
Hum by Colgate
Colgate is the next brand to jump into the millennial-friendly “start-up” electric toothbrush market with Hum, its Bluetooth-connected, app-enabled toothbrush that allows you to track your brushing for better oral hygiene. Hum officially goes on sale September 13, but you can preorder it now on Amazon.
Dame Arc G-Spot Vibrator
Dame’s vibrators are sex-expert-recommended and user-approved; in fact, the brand’s Arc G-Spot vibrator has sold out five times (once in 72 hours), so if you’re in the market for this “silky” vibrator, we’d suggest buying it now while it’s still in stock.
Igloo x Star Wars
During last year’s holiday season, Baby Yoda merch was hard to come by, including the mini Baby Yoda–themed coolers from Igloo. (They sold out within minutes several times.) Now the cooler is back, and this time with a larger, 16-quart capacity. That means it’ll fit about 30 cans of beer for your next socially distant picnic.
Vivanterre Natural Wines
As our co-workers at the Cut reported, luxury womenswear designer Rosie Assoulin and her husband, Max (a partner in love and business), launched their natural-wine label, Vivanterre, (aptly named from the French word for “living earth”) this week. Vivanterre’s light-red and orange bottles are available for delivery online, and Cedric Nicaise, the wine director of Eleven Madison Park and a collaborator in the venture, describes the orange as “really fun but also serious enough for contemplation.”
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
