Dr. Marten 1460s are the brand’s original boot, introduced in 1960 and beloved by the Clash (it’s no wonder why, with their almost aggressively punk appearance — blame the lace-up). These boots have also been a fixture here at the Strategist: Hairdresser Cassadi Currier told us she wears a pair to work (as the Docs intended) for their supercomfortable, slip-resistant, and air-cushioned sole. And Strategist writer Dominique Pariso has relied on her own 1460s since she was 13 — they’ve never let her down.
Not only are the 1460s classics, they hardly ever go on sale. But today is one of the rare exceptions: Right now, these 1460s are 40 percent off, along with a number of other Dr. Martens styles including the platformed Rometty and strappy Francis. This on-sale pair is made in the brand’s Abruzzo leather, in a satiny brown-bordering-on-burgundy color. They feature the company’s signature stitching and pull tab in the back, too. And though fall is still a few weeks away, at just under $100, we’d suggest buying them now to wear later, as we likely won’t see another deal like this for awhile.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
