It’s the Fourth of July — a national holiday, yes, but also a sales event for most mattress brands. Other than a smattering of Prime Day deals, the next big sales event of the year will likely fall on Labor Day, so if you need a new bed before the end of summer, now is a great time to buy. I’ve been tracking mattress sales over the past month, and below I’ve rounded up the best ones I’ve found, listed in alphabetical order by brand name. Most sales should last through the holiday weekend, but sometimes brands reduce the discount after the holiday itself, so don’t wait too long if you find a great deal. We’re also tracking the best Fourth of July sales on lots of other products, and you can stay up-to-date on all our sales coverage, Fourth of July or otherwise, by signing up for our newsletter.
Amazon
I found a few mattresses on sale at Amazon, primarily from Casper and Tuft & Needle (which are both running their own sales on their respective websites). But there are also some good deals from Beautyrest and Molecule.
Amerisleep
Amerisleep makes three different all-foam mattresses with its Bio-Pur foam, a memory-foam alternative that’s meant to be more breathable and responsive. For the Fourth, use the discount code AS450 to take $450 off any mattress. Amerisleep is also offering discounts on pillows, bed frames, mattress toppers, sheets, and bundles of adjustable bed bases with mattresses — and the brand just so happens to make our favorite adjustable bed base.
Avocado
Technically, this is a “summer sale” and not specific to the Fourth of July, but it’s still worth a look. Avocado, which specializes in natural mattresses and bedding, is offering up to $500 off its Avocado Green and Vegan mattresses. You can also save up to $100 on the Avocado Eco Organic mattress, which we named our best mattress for teens and tweens.
Awara
Awara is also dedicated to building its mattresses with natural materials. The brand doesn’t have quite as many models as Avocado, but all three of its beds are good latex-hybrid options. They’re also among the more affordable latex hybrids I’ve seen (latex tends to be pricier than memory foam). For the Fourth of July, you can get up to 50 percent off.
Bear
Originally launched to sell beds that promote muscle recovery for athletes, Bear has since expanded to offer a wider range of mattresses. I’m partial to the Bear Elite Hybrid; it has a really luxe feel. For the Fourth of July, the brand is offering 35 percent off sitewide with the code STRAT35. Mattress purchases will come with two free pillows, a mattress protector, and sheets.
Birch
Birch also specializes in natural materials, offering three latex-hybrid mattresses (including a flippable kids’ mattress). Use the code STRAT25 to take 25 percent off sitewide at Birch — and if you buy a mattress, you’ll get two Eco-Rest pillows for free.
Brooklyn Bedding
This Arizona-based maker of affordable, quality mattresses is offering 30 percent off sitewide. In addition to nice hybrid beds like the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid, Brooklyn Bedding also makes some niche beds like the ultrafirm Plank and the Titan Plus, which offers additional support for heavier folks.
Casper
Cocoon by Sealy
Sealy’s already-affordable bed-in-a-box offerings, the Cocoon Chill (our favorite mattress for back sleepers) and Cocoon Chill Hybrid, will be even further discounted for July 4. Take 35 percent off mattresses, plus you’ll get a free bundle of pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector.
DreamCloud
DreamCloud makes three memory-foam mattresses — the Original, the Premier, and the Premier Rest — and recently expanded its offerings to include a hybrid version of each. For the Fourth of July, the brand is taking 50 percent off all mattresses as well as 50 percent off bundles of a mattress and a bed base.
Eco Terra
If you’re shopping for a latex pillow, mattress, or mattress topper, Eco Terra is a good brand to check out. It’s taking $400 off its latex mattresses and up to 40 percent off toppers for the Fourth of July.
Eight Sleep
Eight Sleep’s Pod 4 Ultra is a temperature-regulating mattress cover that sends water through tiny tubes to cool (or heat) your bed to your preferred temp. The latest generation of the well-reviewed but pricey system is $150 off — or you can get an older model, the Pod 3, for $100 off.
Emma
This affordable brand is talking up to half off mattresses for the Fourth. You can get an additional 10 percent off by signing up for its newsletter, too.
Helix
Helix is offering 25 percent off sitewide, and up to 30 percent off its Luxe and Elite mattress lines, with the codes STRAT25 and STRAT30, respectively. The Luxe and Elite lines are upgraded versions of the six original hybrid mattresses in Helix’s Core line, which range from soft to firm. If you want some fancy features like zoned support, a cooling cover, or a pillow top, go for the upgrades; if you just want a good-quality, standard hybrid mattress, the Core line is a solid option. You’ll also get two free pillows with any mattress purchase.
Latex for Less
Another purveyor of all things latex, Latex for Less is taking $600 off mattresses and 40 percent off mattress toppers.
Leesa
For the Fourth of July, Leesa is offering 30 percent off select mattresses as well as 15 percent off kids’ mattresses and 25 percent off bedding and bed bases. Leesa sells a wide selection of mattresses, including our favorite all-foam mattress, the Leesa Original. Each mattress purchase also comes with a free sleep bundle that includes two pillows and a sheet set.
Naturepedic
Naturepedic offers a good selection of natural mattresses and bedding items, primarily latex based. I’ve recently tested the brand’s mattress topper and one of its pillows, and Strategist writer Kitty Guo is currently sleeping on the Serenade Organic Hybrid mattress and finds it “perfectly balanced” and fully supportive of her body weight whether she’s sleeping on her back or her side. Naturepedic’s products are expensive, but I think they are good quality. For the holiday, you can take 20 percent off sitewide.
Nectar
The Nectar Original is one of the most popular memory-foam mattresses on the market — it’s currently our top pick for memory foam. For the Fourth of July, Nectar is offering up to 40 percent off the Nectar Original and the rest of its mattresses. The brand also has a 50-percent-off deal for mattress-and-base bundles.
Nest Bedding
Nest Bedding — which aptly names all of its mattresses after birds — is taking up to 50 percent off mattresses for the Fourth. Save up to 50 percent on the Raven; up to 30 percent on the Sparrow, Starling, Owl, and Finch; and up to 20 percent on the Quail, Puffin, and Lark mattresses.
Nolah
Nolah focuses on making mattresses for side sleepers, who tend to need a little more cushioning around their joints. I recently tried its best-selling Nolah Evolution mattress in the Luxury Firm model (it also comes in Plush and Firm) and was impressed with the bed’s sturdy edge support and the cozy tufted top layer. The brand is offering 35 percent off sitewide for the holiday plus two free pillows with a mattress purchase.
Purple
Purple — the brand known for its squishy, flexible purple grid layer — is promoting quite a few discounts, but the biggest are on mattress-and-adjustable-base bundles. Get up to $800 off Purple’s Rejuvenate mattresses, up to $600 off its Restore mattresses, and up to $400 off the Purple Plus when bundled with an adjustable base.
Saatva
Saatva makes our favorite mattress overall, the Saatva Classic, and for the Fourth of July, the brand is offering up to $400 off mattress purchases over $1,000. I’ve tested several Saatva mattresses and find them to be really high quality, and the company provides free white-glove delivery, meaning it will deliver your new mattress, set it up in your room of choice, and take away your old mattress, too.
Sealy
Longtime mattress-maker Sealy is taking up to $200 off mattresses in its Posturepedic Plus collection and will include a free bundle of pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector with your purchase.
Siena
Already a budget-friendly brand, Siena is running a deal of up to 50 percent off its Siena Memory Foam, Essential Memory Foam, and Premier Hybrid mattresses. That last one is the most expensive, but it’s still under $1,000 at full price for a queen.
Silk & Snow
Canadian brand Silk & Snow is getting in on the Fourth of July discounts, offering up to 20 percent off sitewide, plus a free bedding bundle (including sheets, a duvet, pillows, and a mattress protector) with all mattress purchases.
Sleep Number
Sleep Number’s adjustable-firmness tech is pricey, but for the Fourth of July you can get 10 percent off the c2 and c4 models, 20 percent off the p-series models, 30 percent off the i-series, and $1,000 off the Climate360. The brand is also taking 25 percent off bedding.
Stearns & Foster
This classic mattress brand is offering up to $400 off its Lux Estate, Lux Hybrid, and Reserve mattresses.
Tempur-Pedic
I’m a big fan of Tempur-Pedic’s mattresses — they offer the classic “hugging” feel of memory foam in a way many other beds can’t compete with. But they are expensive, so sales are always welcome. For the Fourth, Tempur-Pedic is taking up to $500 off its ProBreeze, LuxeBreeze, and ActiveBreeze mattresses. The brand is also discounting some pillows and toppers, including the Tempur-Cloud topper, which is 40 percent off.
Tuft & Needle
Tuft & Needle is taking 20 percent off all mattresses, plus 15 percent off bedding and accessories.
Vaya
Vaya is a small brand that makes just two mattresses — one all-foam and one hybrid. You can get either one for $300 off right now with the code VAYA300. The brand is also offering 15 percent off platform beds with the code USA15 to complete your bedroom setup.
WinkBeds
Take $300 off all mattresses, of any size, at WinkBeds. I recently named the WinkBeds the all-around best mattress for back pain, in part because it comes in four firmness levels (including a Plus option for heavy folks). It’s a versatile and sturdy mattress — New York features editor Katy Schneider has been sleeping on one for six years and still loves it.
Zinus
Budget-friendly Zinus is taking an extra 20 percent off mattresses with code JULY20. In the past month, I’ve tested both its Original Green Tea and Ultra Cooling Green Tea Hybrid mattresses — I’m still sleeping on the latter and really like its supportive, balanced feel.
Zoma
Zoma sells three different mattresses — one all-foam option and two hybrids. It also sells a few pillows, bedding items, and frames. Right now, Zoma is offering 25 percent off any mattress with the code SLEEP25, 20 percent off pillows with the code JULY4PILLOWS, and deals on mattress-and-adjustable-base bundles.
