The Best Jumpsuits for Tall Women, According to Tall Women

Six out of our fifteen experts recommend checking out ASOS’s tall section for jumpsuits thanks to their wide variety of styles and affordable price points that actually cater to tall proportions. Fashion and career blogger Whitney Powell says, “I never have to worry about a jumpsuit fitting my five-foot-eleven frame when I order from this line.” And London-based blogger Alison Rogel, who’s over six-feet tall, agrees: “It’s almost too easy to find jumpsuits that fit,” she says. Rogel particularly likes this one because she thinks “the wrap style is universally flattering and will accentuate your waist.” The plisse fabric “adds a great pleated texture, but it’s so light that it will feel like you’re wearing pajamas.” It also comes in a similar long-sleeve version, if you’re looking for something a bit more winter-weather-friendly.

“I am six-foot-two, and if it’s hard to find a jumpsuit for a tall body, imagine trying to find one for a tall plus-size body,” says Dawn Ellerbe, former U.S. track and field Olympian turned plus-size fashion influencer. She, too, suggests looking at ASOS, because everything is “proportioned beautifully to accommodate both long legs and a little extra room in the torso.” Ellerbe especially likes “this beautiful off-the-shoulder jumpsuit comes in one of fall’s prettiest colors and hits the ankle at just the right length,” she says. “No worries about the waist being under your armpits instead of at your waist, as we often find the waist of garments as tall women — it sits right where it’s supposed to in this jumpsuit.” And it goes up to a size 16.

Five of our experts recommend this specific jumpsuit. YouTuber Tomar Thomas, who is six-feet tall, says it’s “the perfect balance of sexy and modest,” while personal trainer Elle VanSchaik, who is six-foot-one, describes it as “powerful and feminine” because of its balloon sleeves, deep V-neck, and universally flattering fit. And while ASOS don’t usually provide an inseam measurement, Thomas says to check the model’s height before buying (and see if they’re wearing heels), because it’ll give you a good sense of length. “This makes shopping online as a taller woman so much easier,” she adds. Unfortunately, this particular jumpsuit is almost sold out, but we think this still-in-stock one is pretty similar.

Our experts also love Missguided for tall jumpsuits. “Their pieces are amazing quality at such an affordable price,” says Thomas. Like ASOS, their stock goes fast, so some of the exact jumpsuits our experts loved are now sold out — but this is nearly identical to one recommendation from freelance stylist Shahirah Ahmed, who is five-foot-ten. She says this “ribbed knit jumpsuit is a must for a relaxed and casual at-home look paired with fuzzy slippers.” The brand doesn’t have an inseam measurement for this jumpsuit, but their “tall” inseams are always above 30.5 inches.

Another comfortable option, VanSchaik calls this one “perfect” for tall women. She thinks it would be as good for lounging as “a long day of errands,” adding that a “jumpsuit like this is easy and takes the guesswork out of finding an entire outfit.” For her, “it’s a no brainer.” Like the other Missguided jumpsuit, there’s no specific inseam, but VanSchaik is over six-foot tall and this works for her.

If you’re really looking to lounge, Alicia Jay, the six-foot-six founder of Tall Swag, recommends Prissy Duck for their “great selection of jumpsuits.” She especially loves their athleisure, and says she’s been “living” in this one. It has a 38-inch inseam, so it can work for even the longest of legs. “It’s great for at-home wear and can easily transition to a night out with friends …when we can do that again,” adds Jay.

Megan Exum, founder of Belle of the Budget, calls this knit option from Abercrombie “the holy grail of jumpsuits” because it comes in three inseam sizes (petite, regular, and tall). There’s no inseam length listed, but it comes recommended by both Exum, who is five-foot-ten, and Rogel, who’s over six-feet tall.

Alloy Apparel is another brand that popped up a lot. According to content creator Reagan Hart, who is six-feet tall, this grand have “some great jumpsuits that vary from casual to elegant.” She particularly likes this one because it has “a very flattering detail at the waist” and the flare leg “allows for many shoe options.” And best of all, it has a 37-inch inseam.

Or, if you prefer a different neckline, this jumpsuit that comes recommended by Jenna Brennan, the six-foot-four blogger behind Tall Girl Takeover. “The cut beautifully accentuates the feminine figure and both the torso and inseam fit me perfectly,” she says. It has a 37-inch inseam with sizes up to XXL and also comes in white.

“This jumpsuit is the love child of a henley and a utility jumpsuit,” says Rogel. “The corduroy fabric and long sleeves give it the perfect fall twist.” The “tall” option for this jumpsuit comes with an almost 36-inch inseam, and it goes up to a size 20.

Stylist Nicole Omuteku, who’s five-foot-eleven, agrees that the Gap really knows “good basics” and has “a true tall offering for us long-limbed gals.” The jumpsuits she owns from Gap are sold out, but this similar one has “an intentional ankle length made for tall girls,” so it looks on-trend, not accidental.

Talia Ackerman Hirsch, a style blogger who’s five-foot-eleven, also has had “great success” with Gap’s tall line. Like Omuteku, she’s currently into the utility wear look and says this one “fits in with the trend” while also being “a classic style.” Hirsch thinks it looks “so cute on its own, with a turtleneck underneath, or a chunky, cropped knit on top.”

Zara doesn’t include the inseam length on this jumpsuit, but Hirsch says they’re “known for having long inseams,” and at five-foot-eleven, this works for her. “I love this jumpsuit for the defining waist, especially flattering for tall women,” says Hirsch. She calls it a “true power suit,” because it’s a full outfit “all in one — no other pieces are needed to make you feel put together and chic.”

“Tall clothing can be quite expensive,” says Brennan, but this Missguided jumpsuit nails the utility-wear trend and is pleasantly “affordable,” she says. And while it’s a bit dressier than the Gap options, because of its lounge-like material and elastic waist, it’s sure to be just as comfortable.

“Vince Camuto works for women who have tall legs or taller torsos,” says Powell. The jumpsuit she owns is now sold out, but this halter option is very similar. Powell urges tall women to “pay attention to the inseam detail to ensure you will not have any fit issues”; this one has a 31-inch inseam.

The retailer Height of Fashion came up a lot in our search for the best jeans for tall women, and apparently their jumpsuits are just as good. Brennan loves the punchy leopard print because it can “easily be dressed up or down.” And because this brand specializes in fashion just for tall women, the inseam on this is 36 inches.

“Often, us plus-size folks get loose and baggy versions of wishlist pieces, like denim jumpsuits, so it’s refreshing to see that Good American’s sexy, fitted version comes in sizes up to 4x,” explains Lauren Chan, founder and CEO of Henning. Good American doesn’t give an inseam measurement for this jumpsuit, but Chan is just under five-foot-eleven and loves it. If white denim isn’t for you, this one also comes in three washes of blue denim, a sage color, and black.

“This jumpsuit is a win for me because of the cropped length,” says Ellerbe, explaining that it’s a particularly flattering crop for tall women. “The torso is also tall girl friendly, leaving lots of room from shoulder to the crotch area,” she adds. Plus, because “tall women struggle with the arm length, too,” the puffiness actually allows the sleeve to hit in the right spot, according to Ellerbe.

I wrote about this time-saving jumpsuit last year, and while I first came to love it because it allowed me to get ready for work much faster than before, I’ve worn it constantly throughout the pandemic, too. When I feel the so-called pandemic fatigue from not going anywhere, doing anything, or seeing anyone, this makes me feel a little bit more put-together. It only has a 28-inch inseam, but I’m five-foot-nine (with a short torso), and the pants go right to my ankle.

For a more athletic option, Chan loves this Day Won bodysuit that she plans to wear “on some late fall hikes.” As she explains, “it keeps me warm without having to add puffer coats and bulky layers. And it keeps my body in activity mode with its compression, sweat-wicking, and anti-microbial properties.” The bodysuit goes up to size 30/32, and while there’s no inseam measurement, Chan is just under five-foot-eleven and the length works for her.

This is definitely a statement, but Jay says “you won’t find these pieces anywhere else.” Nearly all of TJL’s pieces are “full of bright colors and prints to make a bold statement,” and they’re designed with tall women in mind — this jumpsuit, for example, has a 39-inch inseam. Just a note, though: The brand currently moving from Hawaii to Texas, so anything you order won’t ship until December 19 while they settle into their new space.

“Long Tall Sally carries some of the best business professional jumpsuits,” says Hart. While not many people are heading back into the office right now, Hart assures that many of them “can also be worn on the weekend with sneakers for something more casual.” The brand has tons of jumpsuits to choose from, including polka-dotted looks and ones that’d be great for lounging. And though they don’t to provide inseams for their jumpsuits, Hart and Jay both recommend the brand and they’re above six-feet.

“Boden is one of my favorite places to shop for casual and feminine pieces,” says Hart. The one she owns is nearly sold out, but this one has nearly a 33-inch inseam, a tie-waist, and comes in several colors and patterns.

Hirsch calls this “one of my favorite purchases” because “it’s a timeless piece,” she says. It’s not technically “tall,” but it does have a 31-inch inseam. Hirsch, who is five-foot-eleven, says, “Not only is it long enough in the inseam, but also it is comfortable in the body length.” And it can be worn for more than one occasion: “You can dress it up or down — you can add a sweater or blazer for work or a fun jacket and accessories for an evening out.”

This isn’t a specifically tall jumpsuit, but Chan — who again, is just under five-foot-eleven — says it works for her and it’s actually “roomy.” As she explains, it has a “fun, relaxed, mechanic-vibe, meaning it’s very easy wearing.” She wears the terracotta coveralls, but it also comes in “a fun rose-pink color” that she calls “Instagram friendly” and a “trusty black,” in case “you’re actually, you know, doing mechanic-y stuff.” It also goes up to 2x.

“This pleated jumpsuit by Meghan Fabulous literally made me scream,” says Ellerbe. Because she’s over six-foot and plus-size, shopping off the rack is never easy, she says, but this brand has very inclusive sizing — it goes up to 3x. And while they don’t disclose the inseam, Ellerbe says it’s about 35 inches. “The body of the jumpsuit is quite gracious to a longer torso, too.” Plus, “no sleeves and no worries,” she adds.

Mallory Rice, freelance writer and editor, loves Carhartt and says these are “perfect.” “My personal strategy for something like this would typically be to wait for a long-enough, already-worn-in vintage style to materialize, but if I was buying new, I’d be happiest going with Carhartt, because then I’d have extra money to spend on tailoring afterward to make sure the fit is perfect everywhere,” she explains. It’s durable, flame-resistant, and even comes in a fully “insulated version,” in case that’s your vibe.

If you’re planning to dress up for New Years Eve despite, well, everything, Powell calls this one “perfect for women over five-foot-nine” and a sure way to “stand out,” even if you’re just showing it off on Instagram.

A very stylish tall friend — she’s five-foot-nine — posted herself in this jumpsuit from Staud on her Instagram story the other day, and I immediately asked for details. She explained that there’s plenty of room for her longer torso, and if she’s wearing flats, the pants are long enough for her, “almost too long,” she said. The model shown on the website is five-foot-ten, for reference, and according to the brand, the pants inseam is just shy of 31 inches for the extra-small size (and increases with each size). But be warned: It apparently runs small.

For the sake of journalism, I bothered a very nice woman — who is five-foot-ten and actually happens to be a buyer for a luxury brand, so clearly, she has good taste — in front of me at a coffeeshop to ask her where she got this jumpsuit. I was not only entranced by the hot pink color but also the extremely flattering cut. (And that’s to say nothing of the extremely lush velvet.) She called it a “nice foray into wearing real clothes again” after months of pajamas and sweatpants. The jumpsuit goes up to 3x and comes in a more understated green, if pink is a bit too bright for you.

Ahmed calls this Mother option a “not so traditional silhouette,” and to top it off, it has an “incredible” 33-inch inseam. “Designed with both a modern yet vintage flair, style this jumpsuit with a long sleeve knit turtleneck layered underneath for the fall/winter season,” she suggests.

“This jumpsuit is a very flattering cut for the tall and curvy,” says Omuteku, who adds that it’s “nice and wide at the leg with about 4 inches in the hem to let out if needed,” which she calls “so thoughtful.” And much like the Mother denim jumpsuit, Omuteku suggests adding “a turtleneck underneath and blazer it,” so you can wear it throughout fall and winter. “That changes the look completely, and it has pockets” — bonus!

Jay calls this a real “investment,” but if you need a “luxury jumpsuit for tall women,” Model Atelier is the place to go. “They are luxurious and perfect for special events when you want to make a statement.” This has a 36 inch inseam, so it’s sure to fit most tall women — Jay is six-foot-six, after all. And it goes up to XXL.

And for one more “perfect event dress,” Thomas suggests this bright red jumpsuit that she calls “EVERYTHING.” It has a nearly 37-inch inseam, and Thomas says, “It is so flattering a hugs you in the best places.”
