Levi’s 501s are the jeans that started it all, and with so much storied history, it’s no wonder the style is highly sought after in vintage shops. But the pioneering denim brand makes a modern 501 that’s true to the original — straight-leg, non-stretch, and with the traditional button fly — for those who don’t want to sift through a thrift bin. They’ll need some breaking in since they don’t have any stretch (according to stylist Karla Welch, who’s been wearing 501s since she was a tween, the “trick” is simply “wearing them, and wearing them, and wearing them, and wearing them”).
