What Molly Sims Can’t Live Without

If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what famous people add to their carts. Not the JAR brooch and Louis XV chair, but the hand sanitizer and the electric toothbrush. We asked actress and model Molly Sims about the hair supplements, cropped jeans, and fragrance she can’t live without.

I can’t lie — Le Labo 13 is my signature scent. I literally get stopped everywhere I go because of it. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s musky with a hint of sweetness. It’s masculine and feminine. I can’t get into an elevator without people asking me what I’m wearing. I was just on a trip to Cabo and sold like nine of them.

I LIVE in these jeans. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the cut and material that actually makes wearing these jeans so comfortable. They’re the wide legs that everyone’s wearing, and I wasn’t convinced I could pull them off, but my girlfriend found them and they’re like my new mom jeans, but they’re cool and fashion. I have them in black and white and gray. I like that they’re wide and frayed and undone without 54 holes.

I’ve been taking 8 Greens for the past few months and have seen a major difference in my energy levels. [Editor’s note: Brooke Shields swears by these as well.] Since I travel a lot and don’t eat as many greens as I should, this is the best way to get them all in at once. It’s a fizzy tablet that you put in water, and it contains all these cups of vegetables in them, but it actually tastes good. I can even get my husband to drink it. It’s not sweet per se, but just a little bit so that it doesn’t taste horrible.

This is a complexion-booster foundation for flawless skin. [Editor’s note: We’ve reviewed this before.] It’s completely customizable and leaves my skin feeling and looking fresh. You don’t even need a filter when you’re taking a photo. For me, medium four gives the perfect dewy sheen and mix with a bit of foundation or moisturizer and a highlight without being a disco ball.

This body moisturizer is not pretty. It comes in this weird-ass bottle, and I actually discovered it from my girlfriend Amy who was a model I lived with 25 years ago. It smells so good and coconutty, and I don’t even like coconut, and I love it. It also makes your skin super soft and silky with just a bit of sheen, but no oiliness.

This hydrating, long-lasting lip balm is seriously amazing. I use the rose one because it doesn’t have a color and has the perfect scent … I mean, who doesn’t love themselves some rose?! The perfect balm.

I’ve been taking these tablets since I was in my early 20s and they’re the No. 1 product that keeps my hair thick and damage-free. It’s the model’s dirty little secret to making your hair grow because everyone’s always getting it colored and cut and processed. I actually tell girls who’ve just had babies or girls who have problems with their thyroids or girls who don’t have thick hair about it all the time. I just told a famous model that I met to take it. It just makes my hair grow fuller and more quickly. It’s amazing that you can buy it here now because we used to hoard it when we landed in Paris to bring back in our carry-ons. [Editor’s note: Sims is a spokesperson for Viviscal.]

I’m really picky when it comes to picking the perfect hat. I don’t know if it’s the way my head is shaped, but Janessa’s hats are the only ones that truly fit me. It’s a great beach hat or a day hat — and it gets better over time because once it’s bleached from being out in the sun, it has the perfect straw bohemian look.

This is a natural sanitizer that I keep around me 24/7: in the house, car, and my purse. Always important when you have the kids running around. I just think the Purell bottles look so gross, and this is a nice bluish purple that looks good and works well and smells good, too.

Those who know me know that I’m a murder-mystery, crime-seeking ADDICT. I’m absolutely obsessed with CSI … if there’s a crime book out there, I’m going to find it. The Wife Between Us is my most recent obsession that’s impossible to put down. It’s a phenomenal, phenomenal read. It’s the new Gone Girl or All the Missing Girls thriller for this year.

I LOVE Sweet Laurel and all of their treats. This book has let my family bring these recipes into our home. From matcha sandwich cookies to salted lemon-meringue pie, Laurel has it all. She had an autoimmune disorder and had to go grain-free, and I don’t have an allergy, but I try not to eat a lot of gluten. This is healthy baking that’s actually GOOD.

I add this supplement to all of my smoothies and juices. Supposedly, it gets absorbed quickly and helps improve hair, skin, and nails. This is a whole argument that I had with someone the other day, but now that we’re in our 40s, we should start to use it. I put it in my smoothies and I can tell that it’s made a difference. It’s been six months, and I feel younger!
