If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what famous people add to their carts. Not the JAR brooch and Louis XV chair but the hair spray and the electric toothbrush. We asked actress Storm Reid — who has a partnership with Dark & Lovely — about the calming blanket, all-day lip mask, and breathable socks she can’t live without.

I’m a big water lover, and my mom introduced me to alkaline water years ago. That’s all she would buy. I think regular water or other bottled waters have minerals and additives that make it taste weird. Alkaline water, specifically Essentia, tastes clean and normal. It tastes like water you should be drinking.

I’ve been using Palmer’s regular lotion for years, but I discovered the coconut-oil version just last year while my family and I were in Greece for my birthday. We were all sharing sunscreens and lotions, and my brother saw that I used the regular Palmer’s lotion. He was like, “No, you need to buy this instead.” So when we got back to the States, I bought it and have been using it after every shower since. It gives me the same moisture as regular Palmer’s, but it makes my skin more smooth and gives me a little bit of a glow. I find that my skin has an even tone after using it. I love the scent too. It’s a mix of shea butter and coconut, so it kind of smells like coconut cookies.

About a year ago, my makeup artist Pauly Blanch started applying this on my lips every time he’d do my makeup for events or on set. I liked it so much that I asked him what it was, and I’ve been buying it ever since. It says to use it at night, but I don’t follow the rules. I use it all times of the day. It keeps my lips super-moisturized but also has a high shine gloss and adds a little plumpness to my lips. It has a nice vanilla scent. Of course, you’re not supposed to eat your lip gloss, but it tastes sweet too.

I like to say I was an A&R in my past life. I’m always listening to music no matter where I’m at. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Drake, Kehlani, a lot of love songs, and R&B playlists. I switch between these and my AirPods, but I tend to lose my AirPods a lot. I’m trying to gain some responsibility back when it comes to handling my earphones, so I’m sticking with these.

These are the most breathable socks. I first got introduced to Bombas by my stylist, Jason Bolden, who puts all his clients in them. They’re perfect no-show socks. I wear tons of sneakers, but I don’t like the look of socks being out. I’m not a person who doesn’t wear socks with their sneakers, and these stay in place. They’re tight while still being supercomfortable and have a nice grip at the heel to keep them from slipping.

This is not a typical weighted blanket. Others make me feel like I’m suffocating or stuck to the bed or couch. Because this is quilted, the holes in the blanket make it easy to breathe and maneuver even though it is still a big heavy blanket. I love being bundled up and cozy, so it’s become a staple in my house. I always have it on my bed or take it to my couch for movie night. I feel a sense of peace and tranquility when I have it. My favorite color is baby blue, so I had to get it in the shade closest to that.

I’ve been working with Dark & Lovely since November last year, and I immediately fell in love with this because it does so much. Whether I’m wearing my hair in braids or rocking my curly hair or I have a curly protective style in, I use this to smooth my flyaways and frizz. For the Costume Designers Guild Awards back in March, we created this half-up, half-down look with loose waves in the back of my hair and a few braided cornrows in the front. We used the balm to add that sleek finish and make sure everything stayed in place. It’s a balm to serum formula, so it’s easy to apply and a little goes a long way. Other serums I’ve tried leave my hair oily or weigh it down. This feels much more natural, like there’s movement still.
