For this week’s “Don’t Dillydally,” we’ve surfaced a range of things we’re sure will sell out, including Uniqlo’s latest designer collab, essentials for a summer cookout, and Converse adorned with the gang from Peanuts.
Brightland BBQ Capsule
Brightland, which makes statusy olive oils and fancy vinegars, is offering a pack of essentials for your next summer cookout. The Summer BBQ Capsule comes with the brand’s popular Awake olive oil, its blackberry balsamic vinegar, a spice blend made in collaboration with Burlap & Barrel, a booklet of recipes by Will Coleman, and titanium-coated bronze stainless-steel grill tongs.
Ghia Hazelnut Spread
One of our favorite nonalcoholic-spirits brands, Ghia has rereleased its version of a hazelnut spread. Available in packs of two, it’s made with olive oil instead of palm oil and less sugar than most other options. And today, 100 percent of its sales will go to Moms Demand Action, a grassroots organization fighting for public-safety measures that protect people from gun violence.
Yesterday, the comic strip Peanuts and Converse came out with a limited-edition collection of shoes and apparel reimagining Converse’s classics in playful designs featuring the whole Peanuts gang. The “Peanuts by You” feature lets you customize a pair of Chuck Taylor All Star or All Star DG Slip shoes with a themed color palette, graphics of different Peanuts characters, and more.
In more footwear news, Reformation introduced its inaugural sneaker collection last week. The Harlow leather sneaker is 100 percent recyclable and designed with contrast-piping details for a pop of color. It’s available in five colorways, including Midnight, Lawn, and the pictured Avocado Swirl.
Alex Mill x Quiet Town
This week in sustainable collaborations we have Alex Mill and Quiet Town. The brands upcycled 200 pounds of shower-curtain scraps to create a limited-edition version of Alex Mill’s Perfect Weekend Tote. Only 65 were made — 35 in the Pine colorway and 30 in Dusk — so if you like what you see, don’t dillydally.
Surf brand Quiksilver has partnered with Netflix’s Stranger Things for a five-part collection of ’80s-inspired apparel. The first wave of releases, out last Friday, includes the 1986 collection. The offerings are from Quiksilver’s archives, featured in retro pastels and black-and-red versions to mimic the show’s Upside Down alternate dimension. The second wave of releases will arrive on May 27, in line with Stranger Things’ season-four premiere.
Ray-Ban x Formula One
Ferrari’s Formula One drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz teamed up with Ray-Ban to customize their favorite frames with new accents. Sainz’s pair features yellow rubber nose pads and temple grips reflecting both the crest of his team and the flag of Spain, his home country. Leclerc’s (pictured) are made with refined golden metal rims since he’s got his eyes set on winning gold.
Uniqlo’s latest designer collaboration with Italian fashion house Marni is available to purchase tomorrow morning, but you should start bookmarking pieces now since it’s likely to sell out fast. The women’s lineup is full of breezy silhouettes in bright colors and bold patterns, like this pleated dress in contrasting designs.
And the men’s collection offers lots of the same, plus color-blocked tees and Marni’s playful take on Uniqlo’s tailored jacket.
Nordstrom is known to bring online-only retailers to its physical stores, and its latest launch is with mega retailer ASOS. This is the first physical presence for the British online fashion and beauty retailer, which is now available at ten Nordstrom stores across the U.S. You can also find over 700 styles on Nordstrom’s website, including an assortment of size-inclusive pieces, at accessible price points.
Parachute Bolster Dog Bed
Parachute, makers of our favorite bedsheets and robes, has expanded its dog-bed options. Available in three sizes, the Bolster dog bed has soft padding around the edges for extra support. In line with the brand’s original canvas bed, this one has a removable machine-washable cover and comes in a neutral shade.
