A cow escaped its captors in Paterson, New Jersey, Tuesday night, and ran around quite conspicuously for a while until police apprehended the large mammal that really never had a chance. NBC New York reports that “[the cow] was not hurt,” a reference, it seems, to the cow’s capture. That may be all well and good in the meantime, but a slaughterhouse is indeed the kind of place where cows get hurt. Just give this cow some dignity after it meets its maker and turn it into something other than pink slime.
