The Week LeBron Took His Talents to South Beach

One week after he became a free agent, LeBron James sat down with Jim Gray last night to announce his decision to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Heat. (It was pretty much an hour-long debacle, and LeBron and the NBA may never be the same.) Despite the best efforts of Isiah Thomas, the Knicks lost out on the two-time MVP, and they now proceed with Amar’e Stoudemire and Anthony Randolph, but perhaps without Donnie Walsh. Damn you and your lies, Jared Dudley! But what happened this week that didn’t involve the University of Phoenix?

The Yankees swept Oakland, beat Seattle in their last at bat, and are reportedly on the verge of landing Cliff Lee.

The Mets dropped two of three to the Reds, but Johan Santana looked like Johan Santana again.

The Netherlands and Spain advanced to the World Cup final.

And we watched some soccer with fans of Germany and Uruguay.

That’s it for us. We’ll see you Monday.
