Our PlayStation 3: Yankees in Seven!

Our PlayStation 3 is a harbinger of mirth for the Yankees; it brings warmth and hope and also plays Blu-rays. After our simulation picked the Yankees in four over the Twins, we ran the Rangers-Yankees ALCS through ye olde simulation machine. If real life is anything like our game — and why wouldn’t it be? — we’re in for an amazing series. The Rangers won the first two games of the series in Arlington, and actually led the Yankees 3-2 going into the ninth inning of Game 3. (Cliff Lee had a no-hitter into the seventh in that one.) With one out in the ninth, A-Rod hit a triple and scored on a Robinson Cano single; Cano scored on a walk-off hit by Ramiro Pena (who had pinch run for Marcus Thames in the seventh). If that happens, Yankee Stadium will implode. The Yanks then won the next two games in the Bronx — A.J. Burnett gave up one run in seven innings in Game 4 — but then lost Game 6 in Texas, evening the series 3-3. But Andy Pettitte came through in Game 7, outdueling Cliff Lee to win 4-1 and send the Yankees to their second consecutive World Series. BREAK OUT THE CHAMPAGNE, EVERYONE. By the way, the Phillies won their simulated series over the Giants in five games. Our PlayStation 3 went 3-1 in the Division Series, so don’t you dare doubt it.
