Henrik Lundqvist and Marc Staal were among the 36 players named NHL All-Stars today, joining six others (sorry, Sean) who were already voted in by fans. (As you surely know by now, those 42 players will be divided into two teams the Friday before the game, when two yet-to-be-determined captains pick their squads in a fantasy-style draft.) Derek Stepan, meanwhile, was among the twelve rookies selected to take part in the skills competition the night before the game itself, which will take place January 30 in Raleigh. It’s the second All-Star appearance for Lundqvist, and the first for Staal. [Newsday]
