Both St. John’s and Manhattan began their tournament runs on Friday — and both saw those runs end over the weekend. St. John’s beat East Carolina in its opening game in the double-elimination Charlottesville regional on Friday, but then lost to top seed Virginia on Saturday and dropped its rematch with East Carolina yesterday. Manhattan, meanwhile, was routed 17–3 in its opener against Florida on Friday, then was eliminated by Jacksonville on Saturday. If you’re looking for a localish team to pay attention to now that the two teams from within city limits are out, know that Seton Hall was eliminated over the weekend, as well, but that UConn plays Clemson tonight in its region’s championship game.
