Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been watching this pint-size storefront on Christopher Street in the West Village turn into an elegant little men’s shop. The just-opened store, called Doyle Mueser Bespoke (19 Christopher St.; 347-982-4382), adds some stylish cachet to the eclectic boutiques between Greenwich and Waverly Streets. Photo: Wendy Goodman

The store sells off-the-rack and bespoke shirts and suits (shirts from $275; suits from $2,700). A custom-tailored suit requires three to five fittings over six to eight weeks”it’s quite a process, but such is the cost of having your clothes fit perfectly. Photo: Wendy Goodman

To complete the manly vibe: A tidy bar full of whiskey, should you want a complimentary nip. Photo: Wendy Goodman

A suit jacket in process. The shoehorn was a store-warming gift from Steven Taffel, the owner of the wonderful men’s shoe store, Leffot, just across the street. Photo: Wendy Goodman
