I was so excited to hear that Shanan Campanaro, the Brooklyn artist whose company Eskayel (www.eskayel.com) creates wall coverings and fabrics based on her artwork, had just launched a collection of rugs with Doris Leslie Blau (306 E. 61st St., nr. Second Ave.; dorisleslieblau.com). The rug company is now owned by Nader Bolour, but the legendary doyenne of carpets is very much still a presence in the showroom. I went to take a look at Doris’s new beauties, starting with this sample, one of ten rugs in Shanan’s collection made in India, Nepal, and China. Photo: Wendy Goodman
