Artist Sean Mellyn (Seanmellyn.com) has lived in this one-bedroom apartment for the last fifteen years in a still-authentic part of town, down under the Manhattan Bridge, on the tip of the Lower East Side. I went to visit and fell in love with his kitchen, among other things. Sean is one of those industrious people who collects “trash” furniture (i.e., household stuff left on the street) and thoroughly transforms it.
