Piers Morgan Poised to Take Over for Larry King

According to the New York Times, the America’s Got Talent judge will be announced as Larry King’s replacement imminently, as a deal is being finalized between the parent companies of CNN and NBC (home to Talent). A contract could reportedly be signed within a few days, based on the intel of three people involved in the negotiations. The choice of Morgan, known as the “mean judge” on Talent’s panel, has “baffled many people inside CNN,” the Times says. The 45-year-old is considered one of the top interviewers in Britain, though, where he hosts Piers Morgan Life Stories, on which he’s interviewed the likes of Gordon Brown and Simon Cowell, whom we have to thank for the selection.
