All the way back in August of 2009, Michele Bachmann asked God to help her decide whether to run for president. His encouragement, in fact, was a prerequisite for her candidacy. “If I felt that’s what the Lord was calling me to do, I would do it,” she said. “But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That’s really my standard.” Reasonable enough. Now, however, Bachmann wants God to do more than just give her a lazy thumbs-up and go on his way to control the motion of the tides. Instead, she’d like him to personally select her campaign team and, presumably, interview them and look over their résumés.
“I am asking your listeners to now please pray for me and my husband and my team,” Bachmann said. “Ask that the Lord will give us a special anointing on how to put our team together, who those team people will be, that he would bring those people to us.
And God said, “Let there be a scheduling coordinator,” and there was a scheduling coordinator. And God saw that the scheduling coordinator was good.
