On Monday, MSNBC will launch another wild ensemble show called The Cycle, which will feature contributors Touré, Krystal Ball, S.E. Cupp, and Steve Kornacki, the Times’ Brian Stelter reports. “This ensemble brings interesting voices and backgrounds to the 3 p.m. hour,” said MSNBC president Phil Griffin. The pundits will take turns as the show’s host, a format the show’s producer Steve Friedman acknowledged is awfully similar to Fox’s 5 p.m. program The Five. As if Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO series Newsroom needed any more fodder.
