Almost all U.S. diplomats have been removed from the consulate in Lahore, Pakistan, after the State Department “ordered this drawdown due to specific threats” against the consulate. They’ve been relocated to the Pakistani capital of Islambad for now. According to CNN, it’s not clear whether this threat had anything to do with the recent closure of several U.S. embassies in Asia and Africa. But it’s pretty darned “crazy pants” all the same.
