The new documentary directed by Ido Mizrahy and co-produced by New York contributing editor Geoff Gray traces the saga of seventies New York City cop William Phillips, who testified about department corruption only to be convicted in a seedy double murder. Based in part on Gray’s reporting for New York and the Times, the film attempts to parse Phillips’s claims of a conspiracy against the backdrop of a grittier city. Patrolman P is screening at the IFC Center on Thursday, November 21.
