Ray Kelly and JPMorgan Could Be a Perfectly Controversial Match

New York Police Department (NYPD) Commissioner Ray Kelly speaks at a press conference about the NYPD's Stop-and-Frisk practice on August 12, 2013 in New York City. A federal court judge ruled that Stop-and-Frisk violates rights guaranteed to people; the Bloomberg administration has vowed to appeal the case.

NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly is reportedly in “advanced talks” to become the senior security officer at JPMorgan Chase, the New York Post reports, “and he may leave his current post before Bill De Blasio is sworn in.” The job, which would focus on cybersecurity, could bring in seven figures for Kelly and unite him with similarly embattled CEO Jamie Dimon, who knows all about the fickleness of New York City success and popularity. With Kelly’s legacy — and the constitutionality of stop-and-frisk — undecided, he might as well go cash in at a different polarizing institution. Such a partnership makes almost too much sense.
