Despite laying off more than 100 people in the last five years, public servant Thomas Galante has a salary of $391,594, more than Bill De Blasio, the schools chancellor, or the MTA chairman, according to a rage-stirring column in today’s Daily News. He also drives a paid-for sports car and recently renovated his office to the tune of $140,000, including a private $27,000 roof deck (teak tile, wrought-iron furniture, two dozen evergreens) for smoking. Books: not a bad racket.
