Sure, it took 16 years, but Miranda Hobbes — an ambitious lawyer with a tendency to prioritize her career over her personal life — has finally made some time for a project she’s truly passionate about. On Thursday night, New York City First Lady Chirlane McCray announced that Hobbes has dispatched her doppelganger, longtime de Blasio supporter Cynthia Nixon, to serve on an advisory board of the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, a nonprofit that raises private money for public programs. De Blasio hired Nixon’s wife, Christine Marinoni, as a Department of Education adviser earlier this year, so we couldn’t help but wonder: Is it possible to make pun about spouses who work for the same local administration?
