Video Shows NYPD Officer Punching Boy During Arrest

The NYPD’s ­Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating an arrest caught on cell-phone video in which a plainclothes officer runs up to a suspect being handcuffed and punches him at least twice. “Hey! Hey! Hey!” yells one woman. “Stop it! Get off of him!” The suspects allegedly assaulted another young man with a cane on the Lower East Side Monday afternoon. Police told the Lo-Down that the assault was part of a gang initiation, and the suspects were 16 and 17. However, a woman in the video says they were only 12. Sarah Doneghy, who posted the clip, claims in the YouTube description “when the victim was asked, he said those weren’t the guys. They were still taken away.”
