Ye appears in ad days after making offensive comments about the Jewish community
Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, appeared in a Super Bowl ad for Yeezy.
“I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth, so, once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone," Ye says in the ad, which was paid for by his LLC.
The ad aired just days after he posted a barrage of messages to X in which he made offensive comments about the Jewish community and said he has “dominion” over his wife.
Who will be MVP?
After three quarters, the Super Bowl MVP race might come down to a favorite vs. two long shots.
Hurts was a 5-1 pregame pick, and he has managed the Eagles offense in a highly capable manner tonight. By early in the fourth quarter, DraftKings had him as the heavy 1-20 favorite.
But Philadelphia defenders Zack Baun (800-1) and Cooper DeJean (200-1) had key first-half interceptions that got their team rolling.
Von Miller was the last defensive player to win the Super Bowl MVP, in Denver's win in 2016.
Chiefs avoid historic offensive futility
Kansas City was threatening to become the first team in Super Bowl history to be held scoreless. It avoided that ignominious distinction when Mahomes threw a 24-yard touchdown with 34 seconds left in the third quarter to pull within 34-6 of Philadelphia.
Chiefs cut into massive deficit, now trail 34-6
The Chiefs will not be shut out as Mahomes found Worthy for 24 yards and a touchdown.
But the two-point try failed, so the Chiefs need four scores with 15-1/2 minutes left.
50-yard gain for Worthy
It's too little too late, but Mahomes finally found a big play, hooking up with Xavier Worthy for 50 yards.
Now it's just turned into a humiliation
Hurts and Devonta Smith connected for a 46-yard touchdown, extending the Eagles' lead to 34-0.
With 17-1/2 minutes left in the game, now just the final margin is in question.
Eagles approaching historic blowout
Fifteen Super Bowls have been decided by one-score margins since 2000. Super Bowl 59 doesn't appear to be one of them, however.
By leading 34-0 midway through the third quarter, the Eagles could be approaching a blowout of historic proportions. In all, 13 Super Bowls have been decided by more than 20 points and five by more than 30.
The largest margin of victory in a Super Bowl was in 1990, in San Francisco's 55-10 victory against Denver in Super Bowl 24. Other big blowouts included Chicago winning Super Bowl 20 over New England by 36 points, Dallas crushing Buffalo to win Super Bowl 27 by 35 points and Super Bowl 22, which Washington won 42-10 over Denver.
Travis Kelce finally on the board — but it matters little
The star Kansas City tight end finally caught a pass in New Orleans.
He picked up 8 yards on third-and-13 — and it didn't matter as the Eagles held on fourth down.
Performer onstage with Lamar reveals Palestinian flag during halftime show
A performer who was part of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show was detained by security after waving the Sudanese flag and Palestinian flags together with the words “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on them toward the end of the performance, the NFL said.
The person, who was dressed in black like other dancers on the field, was identified by the NFL “as part of the 400-member field cast.”
“We commend security for quickly detaining the individual who displayed the flag,” the league said. “The individual hid the item on his possession and unveiled it late in the show. No one involved with the production was aware the individual’s intent.”
The New Orleans Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations directed NBC News to the NFL security team for comment.
A representative for Apple Music did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Eagles add a field goal, remain in total control
Kicker Jake Elliott connected from 29 yards out and the Eagles extended their lead to 27-0.
While the Eagles failed to score a TD, they took plenty of time off the clock. Those points also make it so that Kansas City will need the ball at least four times and score three touchdowns with three two-point conversions (24 points) plus a field goal (three points) just to tie the Eagles, while allowing no points.
