My new favorite store is Cole Haan. To be honest, the last time—prior to a few months ago—I owned anything from Cole Haan is when I was a cater-waiter in the early to mid 90s and wore a pair of their lug-soled lace-up oxfords as my official waiter shoes. My polyester tuxedo has thankfully been retired, but my relationship with Cole Haan is just hitting its stride. The other day I hit the Rock Center store thinking I was going to buy a pair of python wedges, but instead I was sidetracked by this trench. Now I realize that $395 isn’t cheap, but the details on this coat—the contrast floral lining, the perfect length, the vintage-y buttons—make it completely worth it. And the color (Kelly green) is absolutely perfect. P.S: while you are there, check out the G Series metallic flats. They’re really fab, too.
$395 at Cole Haan, 620 Fifth Ave., at 50th St., 212-765-9747, colehaan.com.
