Back when Jorge Posada was a young backup catcher for the Yankees, this plain-Jane one-bedroom was his bachelor pad. For his first two seasons in the Bronx—1995 and 1996—he paid $2,370 a month in rent, which probably sounded like a lot of money to him back then. Posada’s fellow up-and-comer, Derek Jeter, was a regular visitor, and served as best man at Posada’s wedding in 2000. Since then, the building (then called River Terrace) has gone condo, taking the name Miraval Living. Posada, too, is living larger, aided by the $52 million four-year contract he signed with the Yankees in 2007. City records show that he’s settled in the East Seventies, where he paid $3.6 million for a three-bedroom that same year, next door to the place where he was already living. Combined, the two apartments total approximately 5,600 square feet, roughly two-thirds the size of Yankee Stadium’s infield.
