Soap It Up

Imagine a group of women in a Rockland County warehouse drinking wine, chatting, and hand-pouring soaps. That’s what happened when the women of Soap & Paper got together to create their delicious line of home and body products. Lisa Devo, Shannon Burch, and Beth Grubaugh congregate in a rustic warehouse and create everything from scratch. Grubaugh sketches designs for the packaging and paper (scented stationery is $48), while Burch and Devo hand-mix and pour everything from candles ($36) to body creams ($56). The end result is a collection of the most divine-smelling (think cinnamon clove, orange blossom, and fig) hostess gifts that have a charming antiquey feel created the old-fashioned way-by hand.

Available at Diana Kane, 229b Fifth Ave., nr. President St., Park Slope, Brooklyn; 718-638-6520.
