This week, popular spin teacher Ruth Zukerman and ex-Giant, current Today reporter Tiki Barber officially open Flywheel, an indoor cycling gym with something extra for technophiles. Their specially rigged bikes track a riders’ RPM, cadence, resistance, and mileage, then upload all the data to online accounts so they can track performance over time. Bikes are set on risers, stadium style, for unobstructed views of the instructor. Two large TV screens display virtual races overhead, should spinners need extra motivation. Coming in March: a second Upper West Side location. (Single class, $30; monthly membership with unlimited rides, $180; 39 W. 21st St., nr. Sixth Ave.; 212-242-9433.)
