Co-launched back in March by one of the founders of Warby Parker, e-store Harrys.com took the affordable-eyewear model into the grooming realm, selling classic shaving products like $10 handcrafted razors. The next move for Harry’s, unsurprisingly, is opening a brick-and-mortar barbershop, the Corner Shop (64 Macdougal St., at Houston St.; 646-964-5193), on October 29. Extending the brand’s back-to-basics aesthetic—one that is, of course, shared by the many Norman Rockwell–style salons that continue to crop up all over this city—the tiny, airy, 300-square-foot space includes just two chairs (refurbished twenties-era Kokens), where guys can sit for haircuts ($35), shaves ($30), or a combo ($60). In addition to peppermint-spiked Harry’s shave cream and other skin-care essentials, the shop houses a curiosity cabinet of man toys and accessories, from candy-colored Bitwell motorcycle helmets ($150) to simple Hanes tees ($5 each).
