Athleta’s sale section is saturated with good deals on a majority of the brand’s sweats-adjacent pieces — including some neutral-toned joggers and a non-clingy crewneck — but if you dig a little deeper, as I did this morning, you’ll find a crop of truly excellent deals on items like $10 beanies, $20 long-sleeved tops, and $23 sports bras. (I’m partial to a $40 puffer vest that looks ideal for spring temperatures.) The sale runs through March 10 and sizes are going quickly, so it’s best not to dillydally. Now that spring is nigh, let me be the first to tell you it’s finally time to buy a (really) affordable vest. I was delighted to find this one — which is water-repellent, wind-resistant, and easy to compress in a suitcase — discounted by over 60 percent.
Winter isn’t over yet, and this $65 coat that can also pack down into itself seems rather handy.
I’m truly impressed by the markdown on this soft, stretchy black henley. As an avid sale-section scroller, I can tell you discounts this steep are usually only on non-neutrals.
If you’re looking to buy only one thing, make it this $10 beanie. It will take you through the last days of winter and you’ll be glad to have it next fall.
Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio recommends this crewneck if you, like her, prefer ones that don’t cinch at the waist. It’s discounted in this springy lilac along with a Barbie-esque pink and a couple neutrals.
I’m into these waffled joggers that are slightly more discounted than Athleta’s non-waffle joggers.
If you’re a firm believer that sweats should be neutral, these are discounted in navy, black, and gray.
I imagine these sweat-wicking leggings would be cozy yet sturdy enough for running errands and Saturday-morning Pilates alike. It’s hard to do better than $40 leggings (and with tall and petite sizes, no less).
If you need more support, this racer-back bra is even more discounted.
I’m no principal, but I imagine this cinched top would look right in place at a New York City Ballet rehearsal. (There’s a tank-top version with limited sizing, too.)
Last but not least: some reinforcements for your Uniqlo HeatTech.
