If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what everyday stuff famous people add to their carts — like hair spray or an electric toothbrush. We asked Brooklyn Beckham — who recently founded the artisanal hot-sauce brand Cloud23 — about the designer watch, classic sunglasses, and human-grade dog food that he can’t live without.
I actually heard of Ben Davis from my wife’s brother, Brad, who is obsessed with fashion. I’ve always been into Dickies and the skateboarder kind of vibe. Then, when my wife and I started dating, I got really close with Brad, and he told me that Ben Davis makes the best bottoms. You can style them with anything and they’re not too skinny. And they come in a bunch of colors. I’m really into the cream right now. I have a vintage pair of the creams, and they’ve been worn so many times that they’ve just developed this amazing softness to the touch.
The first time I put on a Ralph Lauren white T-shirt, I was like, “Oh my God,” because I have big shoulders and it’s very hard to find a T-shirt that actually fits me well. I’ve worn so many different white T-shirts and then seen pictures of me where I don’t look great. But this one is amazing. Ralph just has the coolest style, and he’s such a lovely guy. And, obviously, he designs some amazing clothes.
I probably started wearing them when I moved to L.A. with my family, because it was really sunny out. So, since 2010, when I was 11. I have very sensitive eyes and a big head. Or, my wife says I have a big head. And the Wayfarers just fit really well and they’re really comfy and practical. They’re probably the best-constructed glasses the world has to offer. I’ve dropped them so many times, but the only thing I need to sometimes get replaced are the actual lenses, because I scratch them.
I feel naked when I don’t have a watch on, to be honest. I love the movement of them. I love the look of them. I have three or four Rolexes that just mean a lot to me. My wife got me a Rolex, and my dad has got me some Rolexes. I have the Batman, the GMT, the Pepsi, and the Hulk. But one of my most meaningful watches is probably the old Rolex Submariner Steve McQueen that my dad got me when I turned 18. I travel with it everywhere.
I’ve always been a fan of Bottega. I love the colors that they use and I love the fabrics. It’s something you can wear anywhere. I got my first Bottega wallet maybe four years ago, in black. Then, I was lucky enough to get a cream one and a green one. And this wallet, when you use it every day, the wear on it just is so amazing. Because the quality of the leather that they use is unbelievable.
I’m not a fan of a chunky wallet. I’m a very clean and organized person, although I wasn’t before I met my wife. She doesn’t carry her own cards, so all I have in my wallet is her credit card, her ID, my ID, and my credit card. I don’t really carry much other than that. I maybe have a little bit of cash on me, but, very rarely, because I like to keep it as thin as possible and have it in my back pocket.
I think this is one of my most important products, just because being English and living in the U.S. now, I tend to burn quite easily. And it gets very painful. I’ve burned myself hundreds and hundreds of times and it’s just the worst feeling in the world. I tend to have dry skin and I have a lot of tattoos as well. So getting burned is also a lot worse than if you didn’t have tattoos. I think it’s very important that everyone use sunscreen. Using this one, I’ve gotten the best skin that I’ve ever had. I’ve experimented with different brands and it just works for my skin. It has clean ingredients. And I love the people who work at Kiehl’s. They’re just amazing.
I’ve been lucky enough to have amazing dogs in my life. My wife and I right now have four dogs. They’re all rescues; my wife runs a rescue. And the reason why I like Just Food for Dogs is because it’s basically human food. It’s very clean, very easy. You put it in your fridge; it goes off quickly. So you have to store it in the freezer and put it out for a few hours until it gets to room temperature. And the dogs love it. They go crazy over it every single time. I’ve experimented with so many different dog foods, and my dogs have just never been healthier and happier, and that makes me happy. I think that what you put in your dog’s body is as important as what you put in your body. So I’m really happy with this brand.
This is basically a passion project of mine. It’s something that I’ve been working on for the past three years. I had the idea to really go into condiments. I’ve been a fan of different cuisines my whole life, and I’ve been lucky enough to travel with my family and my wife to all these amazing places. I just developed this love for food. And then three years ago, I was sitting in my apartment with my wife, and I thought, You know, I love design, I love hot sauce. And that’s kind of how it started. I started doing my research and found a white space for high-end condiments. Like, making condiments sexy again. I wanted to create something that is appealing to the eye, that has clean, pure ingredients, for a pretty good price. I’ve never worked so hard on anything. This is like my baby. And I’m just excited for people to try it.
There are two sauces, and my personal favorite is the sweet jalapeño. It has organic brown sugar in it, and I feel like when you put sweet and spicy together, it really brings out the flavor of the hot sauce. And that’s what I wanted to do. I love it on a burrito, and it’s really amazing on eggs.
